We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Lead AI Specialist to head our AI initiatives and guide the development of innovative machine learning solutions across Theoria Medical’s healthcare technology landscape. This leadership role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic oversight and team mentorship. You will be responsible for driving our AI roadmap, ensuring high-quality model deployment, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver impactful business and clinical solutions.
Shift Structure:
- Nigh shift ( 9 AM to 6 PM EST)
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the end-to-end development of AI solutions—from research and design to deployment and monitoring.
- Define and maintain the AI roadmap in collaboration with executive and technical leadership.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and guide strategic adoption aligned with Theoria’s goals.
- Serve as the primary decision-maker for AI model architecture, deployment strategies, and frameworks.
Technical Execution
- Develop and optimize machine learning and deep learning models for real-world healthcare applications (e.g., clinical decision support, NLP on EMR data, workflow automation).
- Ensure model accuracy, performance, and compliance with ethical and regulatory standards (HIPAA, data privacy, etc.)
- Lead code reviews and set technical standards for the AI team.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Mentor and support junior AI developers and data scientists.
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and clinical stakeholders to co-design AI solutions that meet operational needs.
- Promote knowledge-sharing and foster an environment of continuous learning within the AI team.
Decision-Making & Communication
- Independently drive AI project decisions with clear documentation and rationale.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Translate complex AI concepts into actionable insights for non-technical teams.
Primary Focus Areas:
- Leading AI/ML model design, testing, and deployment
- Aligning AI initiatives with business and clinical goals
- Researching and integrating state-of-the-art tools (e.g., LLMs, GPT-based applications)
- Scaling AI systems into production
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead contributor role
- Proven experience deploying models in production environments
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Spark, Hadoop
- Familiarity with NLP, deep learning, LLMs, and neural networks
- Tools: Jupyter, Databricks, Google Colab, VS Code
- Strong grasp of APIs (RESTful, Flask, Node.js), cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Visualization tools: Matplotlib, Power BI, Tableau
- Familiarity with GPU/TPU environments for training and inference
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote setting
- Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with a proactive mindset
