Job Summary:

The Data Quality Analyst II is responsible for working with team members, developers and department leadership to develop, maintain, implement and execute a data quality assurance process. They play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data within our organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze data sources to understand their structure, relationships, and quality; identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and gaps in data
  • Execute regression, functional, integration, and data tests against user-acceptance test criteria and expected results for documented test cases to verify and validate the data quality rules and standards
  • Design and execute tests to validate data pipelines, reporting, and ETL processes
  • Ensure seamless data flow between systems and components
  • Maintain regression test suites to verify data quality after system upgrades or changes
  • Detect any unintended impacts on existing data
  • Document defect issues, communicate/collaborate with agile team for defect resolution, and retest to validate fix was implemented
  • Collaborate with Agile Team members to understand the data under test, associated user acceptance criteria, and test cases/scenarios
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate data quality findings and improvements
  • Update test cases as needed
  • Employ test automation to streamline testing processes, reduce repetitive manual work, and decrease the environmental impact of prolonged testing cycles
  • Implement automated data validation scripts using SQL and Databricks notebooks
  • Monitor data pipelines and trigger alerts for anomalies
  • Generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles
  • Utilize existing tools and techniques to innovate new testing/validation functionality
  • Work consists of tasks that are occasionally not routine and often works independently and is required to apply discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures
  • Problems and issues faced are occasionally vague, and may need some analysis to understand
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in advanced SQL scripting required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with the administration of a quality assurance program required
  • Experience in the healthcare payer industry is preferred

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skilled in data testing and troubleshooting
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization)
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks, SQL, Postman, LoadRunner or similar data tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft business intelligence tools
  • Strong understanding of data quality concepts (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
  • Familiarity with data profiling tools
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills; listening and critical thinking; presentation skills, facilitation skills
  • Understanding of data governance principles
  • Proficient in testing tools (ADO)
  • Understanding of health care data is preferred
  • Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable of phases of the software development life cycle
  • Familiarity with Agile Frameworks and traditional project delivery lifecycle
  • Quick learner; flexible; process oriented; highly organized and proactive
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while demonstrating a sense of urgency

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$70,800.00 - $113,200.00

In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
