  • Matthew Akers - Supervisor

  • Up to 15 hours weekly. Schedule to be determined with supervisor.

  • Student will be allowed to work remotely from Austin, Texas.

Purpose

The History Intern supports OnRamps History's two courses: 315K US History 1492-1865 and 315L  US History 1877-the present.   We support high school instructors and students around the state implement our dual enrollment program.  The internship focuses on supporting scaled communications, scheduling, reporting, and learning management system maintenance as well as just-in-time assistance with seasonal, unexpected, and urgent projects.  If you are highly organized, eager to learn new technologies, an effective communicator and problem solver please send us your resume!

Responsibilities

  • Supports OnRamps History 315K and History 315L course development.

  • Works in close collaboration with the History 315K and 315L Course Faculty Lead, Instructor of Record, and OnRamps Associate Director of Curriculum and Instruction to develop and/or enhance the curriculum and related course assets for the OnRamps course.

  • Provides just-in-time assistance with seasonal and urgent projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate

  • 1+ year of experience working in a professional environment

  • Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Punctual, reliable, responsible, detail-oriented

  • Recommendation from at least one (1) professional or academic reference

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Academic interest in Education, Data Science and/or Visualization, or related field; Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual enrollment and college-readiness initiatives.

  • Advanced data management and analysis skills, including the ability to perform basic frequency data analysis.

  • Experience with MS Outlook, Canvas or other Learning Management System (LMS), Smartsheet or other project management platform.

  • Experience with one or more of the following statistics software languages: R, SAS, SPSS, Python.

  • Recommendation from more than one (1) professional or academic reference.

Salary

$12.00 - $14.50 hourly

Working Conditions 

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Use of manual dexterity
