Description

Dr. Cheng Liu’s research team in the Department of Psychology at University of Notre Dame is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support ongoing research in quantitative methods and statistical modeling. The position is ideal for candidates with strong statistical and computational skills who are interested in working on collaborative, interdisciplinary projects. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute directly to lab research interests and work closely with faculty, graduate students, and research staff on the design, execution, and dissemination of research projects. This is a one-year position, with the potential for renewal for a second year depending on funding availability.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct quantitative research in collaboration with lab members on projects related to

educational and psychological measurement, cognitive diagnosis, and learning analytics.

● Develop and apply statistical models to solve real world problems.

● Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.

● Contribute to the development of grant proposals and technical reports.

● Present findings at academic conferences and research meetings.

● Mentor junior researchers, including undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

● Ph.D. or equivalent in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, computer science, quantitative psychology, educational statistics and measurement, or other related areas.

● Strong background in quantitative methods, statistical modeling, and data analysis.

● Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, or SAS).

● Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

● Evidence of academic writing and publication records.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with machine learning or advanced statistical techniques.

● Experience with AI and LLMs.

● Familiarity with educational data, or clinical data.

● Ability to work parallelly in several team-based research projects.
