You have the chance to become part of Hempel’s Marine Data and Technology department, which provide digital solutions to our customers and colleagues within the marine business segment.

How will you contribute?

As a Student Assistant in the hull performance team at Hempel, you will assist our in house development team in developing our digital solutions related to hull and propeller performance monitoring. You will conduct data analysis on pilot project level and assist in writing small pieces of code for our production environment. In addition, you will write scripts for extracting and preprocessing data from automatic emails and/or APIs and run statistics on our large data sets. You will be a part of an international team and work in a true global organisation where we collaborate with our regional teams to exceed client needs and expectations.

What will your day-to-day look like?

• Extracting and automating data collection from emails, APIs or web portals

• Support development of new analysis tools and methods in order to constantly improve accuracy and usefulness of vessel performance analysis results together with department.

• Run statistics on performance data in order to increase knowledge and optimize customer advice

What does it take to become a Hull Performance Analyst at Hempel?

• A technical background with 1.5-3 years of studies remaining

• Good data analytical and mathematical skills

• Good coding/programming skills (Matlab, R, Python or similar)

• A self-motivated, upbeat and proactive mindset

• A good sense of order

• A detail oriented approach

• Good English skills (corporate language).

• Good interpersonal skills and desire to work with cross functional teams with diversified backgrounds.
