Stack is developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems designed to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency of modern operations. Stack's autonomous technology incorporates cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and cloud technologies, empowering us to create innovative solutions that address the needs and challenges of the dynamic trucking transportation industry. With decades of experience creating and deploying real world systems for demanding environments, the Stack team is dedicated to developing an autonomous solution ecosystem tailored to the trucking industry's unique demands.

Job Description: Work with a team of engineers to develop robust, scalable simulation tooling for testing self-driving vehicle systems. This will include simulation tooling for testing end-to- end autonomy, autonomy behavior, and log playback with simulation. Own delivery of simulation tooling components that provide rapid, scalable, repeatable, and robust simulation tooling that meets the needs of autonomy developers. Provide input to the technical direction for the team and work cross-functionally to develop the simulation capabilities. This will include working closely with teams such as perception, prediction, planning, controls, and localization, to ensure that the inputs and outputs of the system are properly modeled, and that simulation features developed meet the immediate and long-term needs of the team. Identify bottlenecks and limitations in system performance and develop novel approaches to unlock new capabilities and ensure a reliable system. Contribute to the sim tooling codebase, making extensive use of Python, as well as some C++ development. Domestic and international travel required, 25%. Telecommuting permissible from any location within US.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, or related field and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role. Alternatively, the company will accept a Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Skills: Experience and/or education must include:

1. Build modular code to support simulation capabilities using concepts (at least three) such as virtual sensors, vehicle dynamics, scenario generation, timestep control, communications, log file processing;
2. Update simulators using C++;
3. Cloud launch management using Python;
4. Receive new feature requests and design new components using design tools such as document editors, drawing tools, and presentation software;
5. Cloud infrastructure scripting using Python to launch multiple simulations in multi-node computing environment;
6. Scenario generation and evaluation using Python to generate autonomous vehicle simulations and evaluate if the scenarios pass or fail;
7. Map creation and editing using Python and OpenDrive map files to provide maps forsimulation scenarios; and

8. Simulation execution, error investigation and issue correction using Python, C++, and logging output to improve simulation scenarios to run without errors.

Salary: $145,125 - $238,960/year; 40 hours/week
