Our ambition is to enhance data visibility, usability, and shareability across the business, including through clear and impactful data visualizations.

We are seeking a self-sufficient, curious, and improvement-oriented Data Engineer who not only delivers technical solutions efficiently but also looks for smarter, more effective ways to solve data challenges. You’ll work closely with Data Architects, Machine Learning teams, and business stakeholders to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and Power BI dashboards that unlock business value.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, build and maintain scalable and high performance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, keeping a focus on reliability, maintainability and cost-efficiency
  • Translate complex business requirements into optimal technical solutions by selecting appropriate data models approach, transformation logic and data architecture patterns
  • Define and structure data models that are fit for purpose across analytical and machine learning use cases
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Architects and AI teams to align on data flow design, transformation strategies and the ideal data product outcome
  • Deliver well curated, high-quality datasets to machine learning teams for training, inference and fine-tuning of models, with a focus on reusability and consistency
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand domain challenges and transform them into data workflows that support decision-making and innovation
  • Monitor data pipelines to ensure data integrity and trustworthyness and continuously observe data workflows for performance, quality and resilience
  • Establish and implement engineering best practices, including standards for defining and implementing data flows, documentation and traceability of data lineage
  • Contribute to the development of data governance and security/compliance practices through your engineering work
  • Collaborate with and mentor other data engineers, providing architectural guidance and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement

You will help shape this role and we value your ideas on how to make it a success.

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role
  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, including:
    • Azure Data Factory for orchestrating data pipelines
    • Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog for data transformation and processing
    • Azure Data Lake Storage for managing raw and curated data layers
    • Azure SQL Databases for data storage and querying
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, enabling processing of complex datasets
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with both structured and semi-structured data formats
  • Experience integrating data from diverse sources, including REST APIs, Relational databases, flat files and documents (eg. PDFs, 3d Models)
  • Familiarity with Python for data transformation and orchestration tasks
  • Solid understanding of data architecture principles and data modeling approaches, including how they support reporting and machine learning use cases
  • Experience working with Azure authentication methods (e.g. Managed Identities) and secure access patterns
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows (e.g. using Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with orchestration, observability and testing of data pipelines
  • Exposure to or hands-on use of data cataloging and lineage tools (e.g. Databricks Unity Catalog)
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset. You seek to improve processes, challenge assumptions and design based on well-founded facts
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills. You can explain complex solutions clearly to both technical and business audiences
  • Empathy and resilience in navigating diverse stakeholder needs and evolving priorities
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team that values trust and learning
  • Fluency in English, proficiency in the local language of your office is a plus

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role. We are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests to enrich our team.
