Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $115K-$140K (depending on experience)
Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).
**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.
Job Description:
- Managing new package requests and administering our data science package repository.
- Gathering data from various sources, cleaning and transforming it into usable formats for analysis.
- Applying statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights within datasets.
- Analize complex datasets.
- Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.
- Create dynamic data reports.
- Requirements Management, Schedule Estimation and Planning.
- Collaboration and Coordination with members of a cross-functional team.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Required:
- At least five (5) years of experience performing duties similar to at least two (2) duties found in the Data Scientist description.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
Desired:
- Experience with 3rd generation programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or C++ desired.
- Experience with data science packages desired.
- Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks), model evaluation, and deployment desired.
- Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
- Experience working with Application Lifecycle and Configuration and Knowledge Management software is highly desired.
- Experience with GitLab is preferred.
- Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting is desired.
- Experience with Agile Methodology is desired.
Security Clearance:
- Must have active secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret Clearance (SSBI). Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
