Salary Range: $115K-$140K (depending on experience)


Work Location:
 This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

Job Description:

  • Managing new package requests and administering our data science package repository.
  • Gathering data from various sources, cleaning and transforming it into usable formats for analysis. 
  • Applying statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights within datasets. 
  • Analize complex datasets.
  • Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.
  • Create dynamic data reports.
  • Requirements Management, Schedule Estimation and Planning.
  • Collaboration and Coordination with members of a cross-functional team.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • At least five (5) years of experience performing duties similar to at least two (2) duties found in the Data Scientist description.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.

Desired:

  • Experience with 3rd generation programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or C++ desired.
  • Experience with data science packages desired.
  • Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks), model evaluation, and deployment desired.
  • Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
  • Experience working with Application Lifecycle and Configuration and Knowledge Management software is highly desired.
  • Experience with GitLab is preferred.
  • Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting is desired.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology is desired.

Security Clearance: 

  • Must have active secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret Clearance (SSBI). Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
