W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Scientist in Lake Forest, IL with the following requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 3 months related experience. Prior experience must include: Work on end-to-end pipeline from ideation, research, model building, model training, validation and testing for Visual Search; Pre-train and fine-tune Self-Supervised Learning based BYOL Vision Model, SimCLR using PyTorch for visually similar Product recommendations; Implement Contrastive Learning Loss function and SimCLR, BYOL model architectures from scratch in PyTorch for Visual Search Application; Implement web scraping and embedding based similarity techniques to upsample image datasets and utilized Umaps, and Tensorboard to visualize the same. Up to 60% remote work allowed.

Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $93,974.00 to $218,700.00, which reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting. Base pay will depend on factors such as work location, relevant experience, and skills. Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion at any time, consistent with applicable law.
