In this position... 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to join our dynamic team to drive advanced reliability and statistical analysis. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mathematical statistics and machine learning to develop advanced statistical and AI/ML models for vehicle warranty data, focusing on reliability analysis, working alongside experienced statisticians, data scientists and software engineers.  You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable insights. 

 

What you'll do...

  • Develop and implement advanced statistical and AI/ML models for reliability performance of automotive components, leveraging large datasets such as sensor data, testing data, and field performance data.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support company's decision-making.
  • Communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including business stakeholders through presentations and reports.
  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team comprised of statisticians, data scientists, data engineers, software developers and business professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest academic advancements in machine learning and data science, and explore new techniques to enhance our forecasting capabilities.
  • Help deploy and maintain machine learning models in a production environment.

 

You'll have... 

  • Master's (PhD preferred) degree in Applied Statistics (Reliability/Survival focus preferred), Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) developing and deploying advanced statistical and AI/ML models.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques, including survival analysis, stochastic process models, regression analysis, time series analysis, etc.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, SAS JMP).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience with model deployment and monitoring.

Even better, you may have...

  • Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with MLOps practices.
  • Familiarity with automotive warranty data and industry practices.
