We are currently seeking to appoint a data curator to work within the Radiomics Group, headed by Raquel Perez-Lopez (MD, PhD).

This post is a great opportunity to be involved in a broad range of cutting-edge computer science research within the translational research environment of the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), Barcelona (Spain). VHIO is a leading comprehensive cancer centre dedicated to translational cancer research and one of the world-leading drug-development centres for cancer care. The Radiomics Group at VHIO aims to integrate radiology, engineering and bioinformatics expertise for the development of quantitative imaging biomarkers for precision medicine to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences.
  • Being proficient at Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English.

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • Prior experience in population sciences and/or data science studies.
  • Prior experience with RedCap databases.
Desired:
  • Fluent in R or Python language for programming will be positively considered.

Main responsibilities and duties:

An organized and motivated, team-oriented individual with interest in cancer research. The candidate is expected to be able to communicate in English, even if it is not his/her first language.

The main responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Design and maintenance of databases including clinical information, medical imaging and digital pathology for different tumour types and associated to different projects.
  • Collection of clinical and imaging data from electronic patient records into different databases.
  • Support in the design and implementation of visualization tools for interrogating the databases.
  • Support for maintaining existing databases in the Oncology Data Science Group, including clinical and preclinical model registries.
Support in projects aiming to integrate multi-omics data (imaging, digital pathology, genomics,….) towards a comprehensive tumour characterization.

 

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 40 h/week.
  • Starting date: immediate.
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
  • Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
