Kestra is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support the growth and execution of our enterprise data governance framework. This role will work cross-functionally with product owners, stewards, and technical teams to help define and maintain key data standards, policies, definitions, and quality practices across the enterprise.
As part of the growing Data Governance team, you will assist with monitoring data quality, cataloging critical data elements, and promoting data literacy. This is an excellent opportunity for an analyst with foundational experience in data governance or data management who is eager to contribute to impactful enterprise initiatives in a modern data environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
• Support implementation and maintenance of data definitions, metadata standards, and business glossaries using Alation.
• Assist in identifying and documenting critical data elements and their associated business rules.
• Help monitor and triage data quality issues using Monte Carlo and support remediation efforts in coordination with business and technical teams.
• Participate in the development of data quality dashboards and reporting using Tableau.
• Collaborate with data stewards, engineering, and BI teams to map and align data sources with enterprise data models.
• Assist with validation of data across systems during releases and project deployments.
• Contribute to initiatives involving Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM) using Profisee; including development and ongoing maintenance.
• Support documentation of data lineage, ownership, and data classifications within the enterprise data catalog.
• Promote awareness of data governance policies and adoption of best practices.
• Coordinate with third party data providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of data feeds.
• Support QA and UAT efforts by influencing and executing real-world data validation scenarios.
• Provide operational support for Governance-managed tools (Alation, Monte Carlo), including managing system integrations, coordinating support tickets, managing costs and licenses, and staying informed about new and upcoming product enhancements.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to structure and maintain certified datasets as trusted sources.
• Foster a culture of data literacy and best practices throughout the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual should have the following skills and abilities:
• Foundational understanding of data governance principles and the role of data quality in enterprise data strategy.
• Familiarity with metadata management, data catalogs, and business glossary tools (e.g., Alation).
• Exposure to data quality or observability platforms such as Monte Carlo is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data across relational databases.
• Exposure to modern data platforms such as Azure Databricks and Snowflake preferred.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot basic data issues and communicate findings clearly.
• Comfortable collaborating with both business users and technical teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, business analysis, or data management roles.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms and/or business intelligence tools.
• Experience working on data-related projects, preferably in a regulated industry such as financial services.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus.
