ABOUT US: 

As a Data Scientist in Sportradar's AI unit, you will work within an established, high performing team of experts on the design, development and deployment of predictive models and algorithms powering Spotradar’s products. You will leverage Sportradar's extensive sports datasets, betting transaction data and user interaction data collected through Sportradar's products and services reaching millions of end-users across the globe.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in machine learning and statistics, be comfortable working with big datasets, be skilled in writing advanced SQL queries, have interest in data analysis and scripting, understand math and probability and be motivated to apply all these attributes on sports and betting data.

The position will be focused on the development of AI and advanced analytics solutions for sportsbook risk management and liquidity driven odds trading, collaborating closely with product owners and technical leads in our Managed Trading Services and Odds Services product domains.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Develop machine learning or statistical predictive models for use in our products and services.
  • Rigorously validate methodsmodelsalgorithms and hypotheses using back-testing on historical data and/or simulations.
  • Analyse and explore data using statistical analysis tools and scripting.
  • Querying of large analytical databases using advenced SQL.
  • Deploy models into production, handle maintenance and accompany model performance with monitoring dashboards.
  • Work closely with product owners and technical leads in our managed trading services (MTS) and Odds Services product verticals.
  • Present ideas and solutions to software developers and business stakeholders in a clear and understandable way.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Demonstrated competency in the following areas: machine learning and/or statistics, efficiently working with big data, statistical validation of results.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and familiarity with best practices in software development.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working with version control system (git).
  • Programming experience is a must.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Bonus: Experience working in Mac/Linux environments, developing in Java, and creating Docker images.
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with building reporting solutions and interactive dashboards using BI tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or QuickSight.
  • Passionate about sport, having experience with sport betting or at least having interest to learn mathematics of sport betting.
  • Autonomous, rigorous, creative and a team player.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics / Statistics, Computer Science / Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Preferably you are a Senior Data Scientist, but we are open also for lower experience if you demonstrate strong coding skills, coherent and creative thinking and are passionate to learn and develop.
