SUMMARY 

iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.

 

We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Principal Data Engineer, in the US remotely.

 

ROLE COMMITMENTS Optimize the enterprise:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that drive company-wide reporting and analytics.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and executive teams to define key metrics for usage, fitness progression, platform quality, and business impact.
  • Work with junior engineers and the data services team to ensure strong data governance and architectural integrity across Snowflake, Amplitude, AWS, and app platforms (Android/iOS).
  • Create dashboards and reporting solutions that simplify complex data into understandable, decision-ready insights.
  • Establish best practices in data validation, accuracy, and availability.
  • Act as a strategic partner for senior leadership, turning ambiguous questions into measurable KPIs.



 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and evolve the analytics layer of our tech stack across Snowflake, Amplitude, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify analytical needs and provide technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and raise the overall technical bar on data modeling, ETL, and visualization practices.
  • Establish and maintain automated systems for recurring metric delivery (e.g., user retention, cohort analysis, content engagement, crash rates).
  • Drive alignment between data engineering and business outcomes by creating trusted, self-service reporting tools.
  • Champion performance optimization and cost management across our data infrastructure.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

 

  • Education and Basic Qualifications

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
    • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.
    • Expert in SQL and cloud data warehouses (preferably Snowflake).
    • Strong experience with data pipeline orchestration tools and event analytics platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Segment).
    • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

 

 

  • Preferred Qualifications 

 

    • Experience supporting data needs for consumer mobile or fitness applications.
    • Familiarity with Android/iOS analytics and fitness-related metrics.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences.
    • Passion for health, fitness, and innovation.
