Job Summary

This role contributes to internal strategy and roadmap for one or more areas of Xfinity Mobile wireless and new wireless growth initiatives in Comcast Emerging Wireless. Perform complex research and analysis of market, technology, standards, competitive trends and projections. Responsible for overseeing design, implementation and evaluation of data engineering products. Guides multiple engineering teams to successfully deploy and operate products and applications. Provides guidance and leadership to other researchers in developing novel ways to solve problems and discover new products. Collaborates and influences teams and works cross functionally. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. Leads teams, projects, and shares expertise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Spark ETL pipelines to support Xfinity Mobile wireless initiatives
  • Manage Databricks Workspace and ensure proper usage of cloud compute resources
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Leads discussions with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements.
  • Determines relevancy of data and identifies alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business stakeholders can be completed.
  • Analyzes large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
  • Combines data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
  • Communicates findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decision makers.
  • Promotes and evangelizes a culture of excellence, data driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.

REQUIRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline required 
  • 4+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science
  • Solid understanding of Apache Spark architecture, components, and concepts 
  • Proficiency in Spark programming using languages like Python/Scala and SQL 
  • Understanding of cluster management, configuration, and optimization in Databricks
  • Ability to translate business requirements to a proposed technical solution 
  • Familiar with programming, object-oriented design, and application development skills (Python, Scala, SQL)
  • Experience with AWS Solutions, GitHub, and Agile Development
  • Knowledge of Grafana, Tableau, CARTO, and/or Power BI
