About this role

About the Role 

The Analytics Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering data-driven insights and scalable reporting solutions that enhance the client experience across the Aladdin platform. This role sits within the Data & Analytics (D&A) function of the Technology Client Experience (TCE) team, which supports a wide variety of initiatives across the organisation by building intelligent dashboards, integrating key Service Management data, and maintaining a self-service metrics platform using Power BI 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Data Collection & Analysis: 

  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources. 

  • Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and consistency. 

  • Transform complex data requirements into structured, maintainable data models using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL, Snowflake.    

  • Apply analytical techniques to derive insights from complex datasets. 

  

Data Visualization & Reporting: 

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and user-centric Dashboards that enable our stakeholders to make informed decisions, providing a more stable user experience for our Aladdin Clients  

  • Present data insights and dashboards to stakeholders and senior leadership  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver actionable insights. 

  

Data Quality Assurance:  

  • Monitor the health of the reporting platform, including daily refreshes and scheduled data extraction jobs – proactively investigating and resolving any failures  

  • Collaborate with data domain owners and SMEs to investigate and resolve upstream data quality issues or schema changes within source systems such as ServiceNow 

  

Continuous Learning and Development: 

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics 

  • Carry our demos of new functionality for end users, gather feedback and iterate to improve usability  

  • Create and maintain documentation, training materials, and information packs to support knowledge sharing with colleagues and foster a culture of continuous learning 

 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Demonstrated expertise in Power BI (or other data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker) and extensive SQL experience 

  • Solid understanding of data modelling principles & performance optimization 

  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proficient with Agile methodologies 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

 

Preferred 

  • Experience with Python for data analysis and automation. 

  • Experience with AI implementation/anomaly detection
