The ServiceNow CMDB ITOM Engineer is responsible for enhancing the health and data quality of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to drive governance and ensure the accuracy and completeness of CMDB data. Key responsibilities include:

Improving CMDB Health: Implementing best practices and strategies to maintain and enhance the CMDB's overall health.

  • Data Quality Management: Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of CMDB data through regular audits and validation processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with various stakeholders to understand their requirements and drive governance initiatives.
  • Governance: Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures to maintain CMDB integrity and compliance.

This role is crucial for maintaining a robust and reliable CMDB, which is essential for effective IT operations management.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; San Antonio, TX, and Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Partnering with business and IT operations stakeholders to define, prioritize and execute ServiceNow enhancements that successfully deliver discovery, service mapping, integrations, and other CMS capabilities.
  • Leading customer sessions to gather, define, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Implementing new ServiceNow features and modules such as (but not limited to) Service Mapping, Event Management, and Discovery.
  • Administers operational support of ServiceNow to ensure it is run and maintained in keeping with industry standards and best practices
  • Forges strong, collaborative relationships and build consensus among competing stakeholders across business and IT peers, leveraging exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Supports ServiceNow mid server environments including oversight of ongoing development activities, system administration migrations, troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Develop code and configuration updates across ServiceNow development and production environments, including planning, testing, and change management.  Utilize update sets in ServiceNow and prepare documented deployment plans; participate in weekly developer and deployment meetings.
  • Creates technical requirements, design, and customer facing documentation to support ServiceNow initiatives.
  • Advising and researching on new ITOM tools and features.
  • Resolution of incidents and implementation of requests and tasks associated with ITOM.

Qualification:

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow with emphasis on data governance
  • Extensive and proven experience with supporting Asset Management modules, configuration management database (CMDB), and Discovery
  • Extensive and proven experience working with CMDB health dashboard
  • Knowledge and/or experience with implementing a Configuration Control Board.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow development fundamentals, ServiceNow Discovery Fundamentals, and Service Mapping fundamentals knowledge.
  • Knowledge and/or technical certifications for Amazon Web Services (AWS) services and/or Google Web Service (GCP); ITIL v4 foundations; ServiceNow Implementor, Developer or Administrator paths
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience with relational database data modeling
  • Experience in process development and ServiceNow automation and integration.
  • Possess strong project management, technical writing, end user documentation skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational change management skills
  • Excellent communicator and able to work with teams remotely; excellent knowledge of English Language (Verbal and Written); excellent customer service skills
  • General knowledge of infrastructure components and topologies, including Web Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred)

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$115,760 - $173,640
