Expana is a leading market intelligence partner delivering critical insights and data-driven solutions to the agri-food industry through cloud-based SaaS products, APIs, and data feeds.We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer, ideally with a Software Engineering background (or vice versa), to lead the end-to-end implementation of our product analytics infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone who can define tracking schemas, instrument events directly in the code base, and build the pipelines required to make product usage and other sources of data available and actionable across the business.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Rudderstack and Databricks, and will collaborate cross functionally to build the scalable, maintainable analytics infrastructure that supports product, commercial and customer success insights at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Define the product event tracking schema in collaboration with product and analytics
• Implement tracking events directly in the backend/frontend codebase (React / Typescript)
• Configure Rudderstack sources, destinations, and (if needed) transformations and identity resolution
• QA event delivery end-to-end, ensuring tracking is accurate and reliable
• Build clean and reliable pipelines into our data warehouse using Databricks
• Ensure data is flowing correctly into downstream tools such as Pendo and Power BI
• Deliver clean, consistently named events with clear documentation and ownership
• Establish the foundations for product metrics and future analysis
• Provide documentation and support handover to internal teams

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience leading and executing similar projects
• Hands-on experience with Rudderstack (ideally, or Segment), and a strong understanding of event delivery pipelines
• Strong familiarity with Databricks — working across ingestion, transformation, and validation
• Comfortable working in production codebases (e.g. React / node.js)
• Proficient in SQL and Python
• Strong documentation habits and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach
• Able to work independently and make progress without close oversight
