Position Requirements
Experience Required:
- 5-7 years' experience in relevant field
- At least 4 years of analytics experience
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business, economics, math, engineering, or analytics preferred (or relevant work experience)
- Advanced Degree or Certification preferred
- Proficiency interacting with various database and file storage systems (Examples: Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL). Understanding of join types.
- Intermediate experience with data manipulation languages, such as SQL, required
- Understanding of statistical concepts and analytic techniques, including descriptive statistics, forecasting, economic modeling, various regression techniques, machine learning, exploratory analysis, and variance analysis techniques.
- Ability to determine if particular analytic problem requires capabilities that don't reside in the division. Proficiency in applying descriptive statistics, univariate analysis, forecasting, economic modeling, and class variance analysis.
- Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience
- Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Impact:
- Develops and performs moderately complex analysis, typically with moderate to high business impact
- Works with leaders throughout the firm, providing analytical guidance to directly influence business decisions
- While there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, coordinating with others to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines will be required, and may be asked to occasionally mentor and train other associates on the team
- Influence decision making, by gaining a deep understanding of inter-departments/divisions interactions the impact on firm operations and initiatives.
- Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
- Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus
***Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday*
Salary Information
Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program.
