Simulation Software Engineer specialized C++

Job Description:

We are looking for a Simulation Software Engineer to reinforce our Future Combat Simulation team in Getafe, who will take part in the definition and implementation of complex simulation architectures for SIRTAP and FCAS.

SIRTAP will provide a performance leap in the high-end tactical UAS segment. Its dual applications will offer a wide array of missions tailored to the operational needs of customers both in the institutional and governmental markets. Designed to fly under the toughest environmental and operational conditions, the UAS will be certified to fly in the segregated airspace and pursue civil operations, all possible with the same platform.

SIRTAP,  with over 20 hours endurance and flying at an altitude of 21,000 feet, the tactical UAS is fit for day/night and maritime Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, providing rapid response for close target inspection.

The team works in an international environment which requires close coordination with internal colleagues, stakeholders and external partner companies in an Agile way. Therefore an Agile mindset is a must for the position.

RESPONSABILITIES

• Implement software models (mainly in C++)

• Develop tools for our test & simulation systems (e.g. Code / ICD Generators)

• Derive system requirements from operational requirements for new simulator functionalities

• Develop simulation models representing aircraft equipment.

• Develop simulators applications (Synthetic Environment part, Simulator Control Stations, Distributed infrastructure, Debriefing tools, Simulator management applications, ... )

• Create and perform unit/system/acceptance tests of the software (C++ / Python)

• Perform integration testing

• Manage suppliers

• Coordinate the development with our international partners and customers

REQUIRED SKILL:

• Experience in software design & testing

• Experience in procedural and object orientated programming

• Experience in unit, system testing and software integration

• Experience in distributed systems

• Experience in the aeronautical programs would be beneficial

• Very good knowledge of tools / technologies:

  • C++ 17

  • Dockers

  • Toolchain: CMake, linters, multiplatform development,

  • Scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell)

  • Linux (Debian, SLES, Ubuntu, RHEL7)

  • Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

  • Communication Protocols & Frameworks (TCP/IP, RS422, 1553, ZeroMQ, NATS, Protocol Buffers...)

  • 3rd generation of software version control Systems (Git)

• Experience in the simulation domain (avionics, rehostings, visual systems) would be beneficial

• MATLAB simulink knowledge is valuable.

• Proactivity is key

• Very good English written and spoken

• Occasional travels abroad (mainly within the EU)
