Business Overview

The Group Compliance Supervisory Department of Rakuten, consisting of departments such as the Legal & Compliance Department and Risk Management Department, works on constructing an effective governance and compliance structure to enhance the continuous growth of the Rakuten group.

Department Overview

CCO Office is an organization that supports the Group CCO (Chief Compliance Officer) with a comprehensive view of the Supervisory Department, engaging in management and coordination work as well as actions for strengthening and ensuring smooth operation of the Supervisory Department.

Specifically, we are engaged in regular work such as coordination for important meetings, promotion of communication within the Supervisory Department, budget management (budget making), and promotion of company-wide activities. We also work on and projects for tackling individual group issues.

In this Department, where many specialists in the legal, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), and other areas are concentrated, the CCO Office fulfills its mission by demonstrating its strengths as a generalist and accelerating cost reductions and results creation.

CCO Office supports other departments in the Supervisory Department by improving work processes so each team can focus on high-value tasks.
We are now looking for a new team member to help boost productivity across the department.
We welcome people who are interested in various fields and solutions, and who can work with each team to improve and implement better work processes, helping to strengthen Rakuten Group’s compliance together.

Position Details

1. Process Improvement Consulting (Handling Inquiries): Identify the root causes through interviews, and consider and propose the best solutions.
2. Development of Business Improvement Tools: Use the latest technologies such as RPA and AI to plan and develop tools that improve work efficiency. Each work is handles as a project, covering tasks from requirements definition to design, development, testing, and implementation.
3. Maintenance and Operation of Developed Tools: Continuously maintain and operate the tools after release to ensure stable performance.Collect feedback from users and make improvements to maximize the value of the tools.
4. Maintenance of infrastructure and environment for business improvement tools: Maintenance of tools, servers, etc. that serve as the basis for 2 and 3 above.

Work Environment

Under 10 people, ages 20s to 40s.The group in charge of Business Process Improvement has less than five members.
Mainly mid-career hires from various industries and professions.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Business Skills and Experience:
- Experience in analyzing and visualizing business processes
- Participation in at least one business process improvement project
- Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills with various stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of project management

Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge or practical experience in any of the following tools or technologies:
- RPA tools (such as Blue Prism, Power Automate)
- Programming languages (such as VBA, Python, JavaScript)
- Data analysis tools (such as advanced Excel functions, SQL, BI tools)
- AI tools and services (such as ChatGPT)
Or, a strong interest in the above tools and technologies, with the ability to actively learn and master them on your own.

Desired Qualifications:

Business Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading business process improvement projects
- Experience in the full process from requirements definition to implementation and operation
- Experience in conducting internal training and awareness activities
- Experience managing projects involving multiple departments
- Experience promoting digital transformation (DX) within the company

Technical Skills:
- Experience using multiple business efficiency tools
- Experience introducing and deploying new tools and technologies
- Knowledge and experience with API integration and development
- Knowledge and experience with servers and infrastructure
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical people
