Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Health Information & Analytics leads the Data Analytics and Health Records departments, ensuring the effective management of patient health information and data to support hospital operations. This role is accountable for data governance, compliance, reporting, and continuous process improvement, aligning data strategy with hospital goals and industry best practices.Duties:
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership in shaping hospital-wide strategies, ensuring that data and information services are aligned with long-term goals, including digital health, patient-centered care, and performance excellence.
  • Lead innovation in health information management by exploring and integrating technologies to streamline documentation, reduce manual processes, and improve data quality. 
  • Lead and manage two teams, , ensuring alignment and integration of workflows, systems, and priorities.  
  • Serve as the operational leader for a fully functional health records management infrastructure, focusing on the release of information, transcription services, and optimizing workflows.
  • Oversee the transition to new systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices, and driving continuous improvement in health information management processes.
  • Ensure the efficient and secure handling of patient records, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and accessibility across all departments.
  • Lead the hospital’s data analytics initiatives, to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient outcomes, and drive financial performance through data-driven insights and performance measurement.
  • Develop and implement the Corporate Privacy, Confidentiality, and Security Program, in collaboration with other teams, ensuring alignment with law, ethics principles, and best practices
  • Manage all breaches of personal health information, including investigations, communication with affected individuals, and execution of breach response protocols.
  • Work in a manner that complies with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
  • Ensure a work environment that is conducive to the Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment, Discrimination-Free Workplace and work safety policies and practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Health Information Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Health Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA – Healthcare/IT), or Data Analytics preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in healthcare data analytics, health information management, or hospital operations.
  • Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to create and implement long-term plans that align systems with the hospital’s goals to improve patient care and operations.
  • Skilled at identifying and using new technologies to improve data analytics, streamline workflow, and enhance healthcare services.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data-driven decision-making and improve efficiency with HIS and ERP Systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and system implementations.
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression/comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression.  Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
