The ability to rapidly innovate using Digital Tools and Platforms is crucial for our future success in creating high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective ice cream products. This approach leverages virtual environments to streamline extensive design processes.
We seek an experienced data expert and leader to oversee the design and implementation of a new Data and Modelling platform for Ice Cream. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and external technology consultants to ensure that the new platform meets business requirements and delivers value through data-driven insights, simulations, and analytical solutions.
The position sits within the Ice Cream Global Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Team in Colworth, Sharnbrook, UK. The successful candidate will work as part of the Digital and Data Team and work collaboratively with people across a range of roles in RD&I including Central IT and Software Developers, Data Science & Engineering Experts, Formulation and Ingredient Experts, Product Developers in Global and Regional Teams. It is an exciting opportunity to help shape the Ice Cream Digital landscape of the new Ice Cream Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the project and oversee the delivery of the entire Data & Modelling Platform (Ice Cream version of Data lab).
- Define the future architecture and platform strategy.
- Communicating project status and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements for the Data & Modelling platform.
- Analyse the needs of end users to understand how digital capability/tools can support and elevate Ice Cream R&D efficiency
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, business & data analysts and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement data models, simulations, and tools with the end user needs and experience top of mind.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including process flows, data dictionaries, and user guides.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Define and lead execution of test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of the platform.
- Promote new data and modelling platform adoption with user-centric change management practices.
ALL ABOUT YOU
Key Skills Relevant Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a data science, analytics, simulation or Datalake/data warehousing environment.
• Leadership in managing complex projects with cross-functional contributions, ensuring delivery on time and in full.
• Strong understanding of data science concepts, methodologies, and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Databricks).
• Experience with simulation modelling tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in change management in a system or new way of working.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and simulation techniques.
