YOUR FUTURE TEAM
As part of TCEQ Administrative Services, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide -- the business foundation for the whole agency. See details about what we do.
This position is a member of our Information Resources Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Coordinate with the security, records, and data management programs to expand the agency’s best practices for managing and securing data across all media and lead the development and implementation of standard agency procedures that address data governance.
- Develop awareness of and outreach for the data management programs. Provide guidance to agency staff on how to implement data governance procedures that balance the goals of ensuring data access to authorized personnel while ensuring data security.
- Coordinate a data maturity assessment of the agency’s data governance program. Present report of the assessment and regular updates to the Department of Information Resources and agency management.
- Work with Purchasing & Contracts (P&C) and the General Law Division (GLD) to ensure that all vendor contracts for which the vendor’s activities include accessing, transmitting, using, or storing agency data will include a provision that requires the vendor to meet appropriate security controls based upon the sensitivity of the data.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing project documentation/artifacts to communicate: project goals, milestones, requirements, design, status to agency stakeholders.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in business, planning, environmental studies, accounting, computer science, related fields, or an area relevant to the position, plus five years of full-time experience conducting program and/or policy analysis work.
One year of additional experience may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
A graduate degree in the above areas may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Information Resources Division.
