The Team Lead, Data Integration lead oversees the day-to-day work of the Database Admins as well as the Integration team. This role ensures the health of our data infrastructure and facilitates development of data integrations. They will collaborate with other IS teams as well as our Operational stakeholders to ensure the reliability, availability, and accuracy of data across the organization.

  • Manage the implementation of solutions to extremely complex problems and relationships between integrated information systems. Manage any project risks both from an organizational and technical stance. -10%
  • Oversee support of the Epic EHR Database and Analytics platforms. -20%
  • Oversee the design and support of the organization’s data infrastructure. -20%
  • Oversee support and development of HL7, FHIR, REST, SQL and File based integrations. -20%
  • Ensure the security and availability of data and integrations. -10%
  • Plan, configure and implement features that improve availability, response time, and monitoring of key system metrics for integration and database systems. -5%
  • Coaching/leading staff and enforcing compliance with department standards and hospital policies and procedures. -10%
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure documentation, including technical specifications, workflows, and processes. -5%
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.    
     

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Experience:  
    • 5 or more years’ experience in the Health IT industry in a data or integration role
    • In Depth Knowledge of Health data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA, X12).
    • Experience developing and supporting API driven integrations
    • Experience supporting the Epic EHR platform.
    • Experience supporting the MS SQL database servers and related technologies.

Education and/or Experience Preferred:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Experience:  
    • +2 or more years supervisory experience in a Health IT data role.
    • Epic Bridges, Cogito or ODBA Certifications.
    • Experience with the MS Azure cloud environment.
    • Experience with the GoAnywhere MFT platfor.
    • Experience with the Interfaceware Iguana platform.
    • Experience managing Linux and Windows servers.

License and/or Certification Required:

  • N/A.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare domain, terminology, and workflows
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 including the latest FHIR standards
  • Strong knowledge of RDBMS/SQL Databases particularly MS SQL
  • Understanding of data architecture principals and standards.
  • Understanding of networking protocols, standards, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of integration engines and associated tools
  • Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Working understanding of data security and encryption principals.
