We are looking for a highly motivated person to drive research on medical image analysis at the Department of Health Technology (DTU Health Tech). 

You will join a strong research environment on medical image acquisition methodologies, with particular foci on Magnetic Resonance Imaging modalities and Diagnostic Ultrasound. You will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to expanding our research and education towards the integration of advanced medical image computing for supporting computer-aided disease diagnostics and intervention planning.

Responsibilities and qualifications
In the position, you will have the opportunity to drive the development of the field of Medical Image Analysis at DTU Health Tech, both in research and education. In addition, you will contribute to strengthening the research interactions with the local hospitals as part of the Technical University Hospital, in particular the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance and the Danish 7T MRI project.

The successful applicant:

  • has a PhD degree in electrical, computer or biomedical engineering, computer science, data mining/machine learning, or a closely related area.  
  • has demonstrated the ability to perform independent research in innovative algorithms for the analysis and interpretation of medical image data to support computer-aided disease diagnostics and intervention planning.
  • have an established track record of publishing in key journals, conferences and workshops.
  • has demonstrated the ability to perform and lead software development for image analysis and machine learning applications, also involving Big Data, using PyTorch, Tensorflow and other related frameworks. This could, e.g. be documented by contributions to large-scale software packages for medical image analyses.
  • has active collaborations with international key research groups.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The position is a part-time position (40%).
