We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Methodologist/Data manager to join our Liver Metabolism and Infections team (LivMI). Our group is mainly focused on Metabolic-dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). The successful candidate will support the statistical design and analysis of upcoming and ongoing clinical research projects.


Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related sciences, statistics or maths
  • Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics or similar
  • Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English



Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • At least 2 years of experience working in statistics applied to clinical projects (clinical trials or research projects)
  • Advanced Excel
  • Proficiency in data analysis software: R, Python, STATA or SPSS
  • Experience developing data management plans (DMP)

Desired:
  • Knowledge of RedCap
  • Scientific publications
  • Experience in basic research (i.e. working in bioinformatics pipelines)
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and within a team

 

Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Manage databases; ensure data integrity, security and availability
  • Development of the statistical design of upcoming projects
  • Perform the statistical analysis when projects are over
  • Preparation of reports and presentations
  • Writing scientific manuscripts
  • Provide statistical support to other team members
  • Clinical data entry
  • Give support to other project management tasks
  • Attend and participate in the unit’s regular activities
  • Participate in the team meetings

 

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 40h/week
  • Starting date: immediate
  • Gross annual salary: 33.000 – 39.000 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
  • Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
