Milliman is looking for a Healthcare Data Analyst to join our growing team. The analyst will be responsible for learning, maintaining, and improving ongoing processes that feed recurring deliverables to the client. Additionally, the analyst will use coding platforms to develop novel solutions that support new projects. A seasoned analyst mentor from within the practice will be assigned to support learning and capability development. The analyst will gain experience using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative healthcare data to support client needs. Milliman's Indianapolis Health practice provides professional services to a broad array of clients in the healthcare sector, with a primary focus on Medicaid, Pharmaceutical, and Healthcare Management consulting. This position joins our growing Medicaid team, currently supporting actuarial services for 10+ states across the U.S.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide analysis of and manipulate large, complex datasets
- Learn and improve complex processes that support on-going projects
- Develop and implement plans to address project objectives
- Produce sophisticated code and sound analytic reports
- Develop novel code to address new client requests
- Effectively communicate data-driven results to the consulting team and clients who may not have a quantitative/data-related background
- Work efficiently in a multi-task environment
- Quickly respond to dynamic timelines and last-minute requests
- Work independently and collaboratively on projects
- Develop strong problem solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, data analytics, mathematics, or related with quantitative coursework
- Knowledge of Excel
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software programs
- Strong time management skills
- Strong analytical, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills
- Results-driven orientation
- Willingness and aptitude for detail work
- Enthusiastic; helpful attitude
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5+
- Prior related internship or university research experience
The Team
The Indianapolis Health Practice is strategically structured to serve state Medicaid agencies and other health and human services agencies. We create dedicated core teams for each state Medicaid agency client that are customized to serve each of our clients’ unique needs. As a member of a state client team, you will observe how we provide comprehensive consulting services which span from many different disciplines and backgrounds including actuarial, policy, finance, pharmacy, and data management, all working together for a common goal to best serve our clients’ needs.
Location
The person hired for this role will work in a dynamic, hybrid environment, with 2 to 3 days per week of on-site work required in our Indianapolis office on a weekly basis.
