About the job

Do you want to work with modelling and development of the different models and data-based automated processes with Saxo’s Financial Crime Prevention (FCP)? Saxo is an investments bank, with high speed, global colleagues and we are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to work within the FCP Modelling & Development team. 

FCP Modelling & Development is part of 1st Line of defense in Group Operations and located in Saxo’s headquarters in Hellerup. We are a newly established team with colleagues coming from different areas within Saxo’s FCP organisation, and we are looking for an additional colleague to join our program. The goal of our team is to ensure that the models and other data-based automated processes we employ in FCP are sound, fit-for-purpose, adequately documented and regularly reviewed.

As our new Senior Data Analyst, your primary focus will be to both independently, as well as together with your colleagues, on different modelling and development tasks. You will also collaborate closely with different data and subject-matter expert teams across Saxo’s organisation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for supporting senior management and FCP leadership with advise and insights in the area of modelling and development.  

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should possess a balanced blend of business acumen and IT expertise. Saxo has a client-centric focus, which requires the candidate to comprehend data analysis and issues from a business standpoint. It is a requirement for this role to be able to collaborate with and communicate across departments and business units in the organization. The nature of the position includes analyzing data stemming from different areas within financial crime prevention, so findings, scoping and collaboration of fixing issues will take place across the value chain. 

Your profile

You thrive in an environment with constant changes but have an eye for the details. You are self-driven and interested in learning how the business works, have good stakeholder management skills, and a proven track-record when it comes to working in cross-functional projects. You should have at least three to five years of experience with data analysis itself, either within the financial sector or comparable industries.

The ideal candidate for the job: 

  • Understanding of how data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes
  • Experience with data analysis of big data sets using SQL, Power BI, and Excel
  • Experience with Databricks would be an advantage
  • Solid project management skills to guide point-in-time and ongoing targeted data quality projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of data (or bad data) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectives  
  • Facilitation and conflict resolution skills to assist in resolving the different points of view and requirements that invariably collide during cross-team and cross-organization efforts
  • Have experience in presenting and reporting to senior management
  • Have good communications skills both verbally and in writing
  • Masters English on a professional level
