CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Sports Science Data Specialist 1 uses sports data to analyze the performance of athletes, teams, and coaches. This information helps sports organizations make key decisions and improve performance. The incumbent collects and analyzes data using various tools, such as statistical software and video analysis. This position translates complex data into clear and understandable insights.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Collects, cleans, and interprets large volumes of raw and complex data.
2. Develops, implements, and maintains data collection systems and strategies.
3. Performs statistical analysis and apply data mining techniques.
4. Develops algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate, and extract data.
5. Uses predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, and other business outcomes.
6. Collaborates with different teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
7. Creates automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
8. Develops tools to analyze data sets and work with departments across the company to identify business needs and goals.
9. Communicates results and ideas to key decision makers in the company.
10. Stays current with latest technology, techniques and methods related to data analysis.
11. Document all procedures and ensure compliance with organization’s data governance policies.
12. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
