The Opportunity:
We are seeking a SDE 2, Analytics to join our growing data and analytics team at Poppulo. This is a key role focused on bridging the gap between data engineering and data analysis—transforming raw data into clean, reliable, and well-modeled datasets that empower product teams, analysts, and business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to design and implement robust, scalable data models and semantic layers.
- Build and maintain ELT pipelines that transform raw data into curated datasets for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
- Own the development and maintenance of our analytics layer using tools like dbt, Looker, or similar.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across all analytics assets.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions and self-service capabilities.
- Work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to provide clean, well-structured data for experimentation and model development and help to evolve them into new product features.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of analytics workflows and queries.
- Contribute to the evolution of our data platform and analytics best practices.
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Proficiency in modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms, especially AWS (S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Glue, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring performance and reliability of services.
- A collaborative mindset with a track record of working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Passion for clean, well-documented, and reusable data solutions.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with ML/AI workflows and data preparation for modeling.
- Experience in Agile development environments, ideally in SaaS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., GitLab).
- Knowledge of GraphQL and Java is a plus
