This role can be based out of either Edmonton or Calgary

Job Type: Full time, Salaried (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: $59,800 - $79,500 annually.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining custom Business Intelligence (BI) reports, data systems and databases (including fixing BI & POS reports, coding errors and other data-related problems).
  • Mining data from primary and secondary sources, then re-organizing data in a format that can be easily read and reported.
  • Interpreting data sets using statistical tools paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable in identifying problems and opportunities for process improvements, collaborating with Goodwill Leaders these opportunities and recommending system modifications.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications and analytical solutions.
  • Producing ad hoc reporting at the senior level when requested by key stakeholders.
  • Answering questions and solving issues with existing and new reports that other team members have.
  • Creating and updating appropriate documentation that is required by IT, operations, and business teams to understand and use reporting systems effectively.
  • Recommending, designing, developing and implementing processes to achieve time and cost efficiencies in reporting.
  • Updating and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and other business performance metrics.
  • Supporting data governance and data quality initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Data Analysis and/or Accounting
  • Related post-secondary education in accounting or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficient with data analyst tools and languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Previous experience using SAGE or similar accounting software
  • Proficient in the use of data mining and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Effective Data Analyst possess a combination of technical skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize work with multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential matters and ensure confidentiality of information and record
  • Must pass a criminal record check and be eligible to work in Canada
