Supervisor - Data Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Engineering Supervisor will lead a team of data engineers to create and support new ETL, database processes, and data storage architectures in service of Sunrise Bank’s Fintech business and core banking processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide leadership and mentoring for direct reports
• Set the standard for excellence in all areas of development and production support
• Set goals for and assign tasks to direct reports
• Be a key participant in architecting Sunrise’s data structure
• Build out pipelines to support the Bank’s RDBMS/NoSQL structures
• Participate in and contribute to Sunrise’s data analytics and cloud-based strategy
• Bridge the gap between traditional data architecture and emerging cloud architecture, assisting in the evaluation and deployment of toolsets and solutions
• Participate in existing production support, on-call rotation
• Demonstrate excellent documentation skills, prioritizing clarity and succinctness
• Understand basic concepts of performance tuning and assist in troubleshooting/improving existing processes to be more performant
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills particularly in the ability to interpret business requirements and interface with business lines for greater clarity
• Work well in a team atmosphere where one is comfortable assisting other team members and being assisted by them

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises the Data Engineer and Automation Engineer.

Responsible for the hiring, performance management and development of these employee(s).

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 2 Year college degree/certificate or business-related field preferred.
• 5+ years SQL Server/ETL experience required.
• 2-3 Azure Data Factory experience required.
• 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience required.
• 1-2 years experience in the following technologies: Snowflake, Databricks, Python
• 2-3 years data architecture or comparable design experience required.
• 2-3 years NoSQL/Data Lake experience preferred.
• Prior experience with orchestration and RPA technologies preferred.
• Experience in the financial industry preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills required.
• Superior skill set in the use of Microsoft Office Suites
• A comprehensive skill set in SQL server development methodologies and relational database concepts is required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The expected starting annualized salary range is between: $105,000 – 175,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
