Oracle BI Developer

Brief Role Description

Employees who develop software and system solutions while taking development specifications and the requirements of the system and security architecture into account and implement software development work packages. This role has significantly more experience and/or tasks/responsibilities than level II.

Possible Tasks within this Role

VWFS Porto is a VWFS AG IT hub, and the first outside Germany. Here we will establish a long-term Business & IT company. Our primary goal is to service all European markets in implementing and maintaining contract management systems and another IT projects in other areas. Our focus is on: Core systems, satellite systems (such as document management systems, collection systems) but also extends to integrations, data, and large project organizations. For this we seek a hands-on Oracle Developer who will integrate our BI team and will work on an international team.

 

Objectives:

As an experienced Oracle Developer, you will be a key member of our Business Intelligence team, driving the design, development, and implementation of Oracle-based BI solutions. Your work will be essential to transforming data into meaningful insights, supporting strategic business decisions through robust database solutions and close collaboration with several stakeholders.

We believe that the right profile for this job should have / be:

• A degree in (business) informatics, mathematics, economics, or alternatively, completed training with relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle developer, ideally within BI or data analytics environments.
• Solid PL/SQL knowledge and experience in Oracle database development.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong analytical thinking, conceptual strength, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Great communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Proficient English skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed for project work or team alignment.

 

Qualification requirements

• Planning, design, and execution of BI implementations from initial concept to successful delivery (experience with APEX is a plus).
• Development and maintenance of Oracle database structures and applications tailored for BI use cases.
• Programming and optimization of PL/SQL modules to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Working closely with business departments to understand the business requirements.
• Managing and prioritizing structured requirements, including resource and budget planning.
