Within our Global Banking & Markets business, Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) provides services like Direct Market Access, enabling our customers to trade equities and listed options without delay.

 

Who We Look For

Our engineers are involved in the entire product life cycle, from working with users and product managers to determine requirements, collaborating with other engineers to develop new features, engaging with penetration testers to ensure security and data protection, to deploying your code to users across the globe. Our part of the team works with modern C++, as well as Java and Python, and uses a variety of technologies to solve specific problems. Within our team, you will have ample opportunities to be curious, to solve problems for our clients, and directly impact the success of our business.

We are looking for eager, nimble, and ambitious trading platform developers to join our growing team of visionaries, and drive Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading to achieve and exceed our goals. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, yet nimble, adaptive, and resilient trading platforms for internal and external clients.
  • Understand US Cash and Options market structure, regulations, and exchange service offerings and implement changes to these on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicate with traders, sales, clients and compliance officers about new feature requests, explanation of existing features etc.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in relevant technical field such as Computer Science or Financial Technology.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Extensive experience with Linux operating system.
  • Experience with networking and distributed systems, preferably including UDP multicast.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building systems with strict requirements for low-latency (microseconds count) and deterministic performance.
  • Experience developing order management, exchange connectivity, and market data systems.

 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $130000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
