What you’ll do

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Client Funds team, which is responsible for the efficient reconciliation of millions of customer transactions per year. These reconciliations underpin the integrity of the Group’s revenue process and ensures the safeguarding of customer cash, all of which are an integral part of Flutter’s strategy. The team’s remit includes ownership of the reconciliation process of all Paddy Power, Betfair, Poker Stars, Sky Betting & Gaming, Tombola and FanDuel customer deposits and withdrawals.

The role would be responsible for supporting the daily processes of the Client Funds Reconciliations team, helping to identify process efficiencies, and providing the team with accurate reporting. Included as part of this is the support and maintenance of the team’s reconciliation software.

The candidate will play a key role in the integration of new products, payment methods and jurisdictions.

The position will also involve working on key projects to integrate Client Funds accounting and reconciliation processes for all our brands and locations across the World.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain reporting vital to the control environment of the Client Funds team, by utilising SQL and Alteryx.

  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members.

  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to develop and design new reconciliations and reports

  • Build reporting for the Client Funds team including KPI reports, daily outstanding/ageing reports, various daily checks, utilising Alteryx/SQL/Power BI/Macros

  • Act as the team’s service administrator for reconciliation software (Accurate)

  • Assist in facilitating Client Funds monthend procedures by acting as the lead on data delivery from Alteryx/reconciliation software

  • Support the Reconciliation Analysts with performance of the daily controls, encompassing deposit and withdrawal reconciliation, fund movement review and authorisation of promotional credit application.

  • Point of escalation for resolving queries on problem reconciliations and other daily issues, as and when they occur.

  • Lead on the delivery of projects impacting Client reconciliations (new reconciliations or continuous improvement).

  • Assist the Team Leads to ensure reconciliation processes and associated procedural documentation is kept up to date.

  • Effective and timely communication with Reconciliation Managers, including reporting of any material financial exceptions and liabilities as they arise.

  • Key point of contact on data related queries, working closely with the Finance Technology teams (Finance Systems, Finance BI, Data engineers

  • Act as key link between the Client Funds team and the Data and Payments teams; cultivate relationships to ensure all points of view can be understood and considered

  • Close liaison with external payment processors, internal payment product management and Customer Payment teams.

  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholder across all Flutter geographical locations.

  • Awareness of the financial control framework, identifying and highlighting any potential risks.

How you’ll do it

  • Strong educational background to degree level.

  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, combined with a proactive approach to work and a desire to progress.

  • Knowledge of ETL tools such as Alteryx.

  • Proficient in use of standard IT packages (with advanced Excel).

  • Strong working knowledge of Reconciliation Software (preferably Accurate and EPM ARCs).

  • Skilled at SQL writing, modelling and querying relational databases.

  • Professional and positive approach, combined with good time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and trustworthiness due to sensitive nature of customer information.

  • Proactivity and innovation – capacity to take the initiative to identify improvements in process and assist management in implementation.

  • Articulate, with the ability to communicate both within the team and to members of the wider business in a concise manner.
