The Senior Consultant, Test Lead, leads all aspects of client testing activities on a large development services system implementation project and must have a solid understanding of systems development life cycle (SDLC) practices and methodologies. This position guides client project teams in the utilities industry through the customization and execution of E Source’s NavigateOne Testing Methodology to complete the testing phases of a development services implementation project.

How you’ll help:
- Lead the “as-is” process review, analysis, and documentation. focusing focus on test scenario mapping.
- Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee all phases of testing.
- Develop and execute an overall test strategy for the project that aligns with the project phases and timeline.
- Develop and execute client-specific test plans for the multiple testing phases of the project.
- Educate the client test team on the objectives, scope, and goals of each phase of testing.
- Work closely with project manager(s) and others to ensure business testing requirements are being met.
- Create and maintain documents and deliverables associated with manual and automated enterprise applications testing.
- Have strong analytical and communication skills.
- Adapt E Source’s NavigateOne Testing Methodology to client-specific project needs.
- Develop and maintain project specific testing processes, procedures, and metrics.
- Develop, execute, and manage test plans and schedules for each test phase and cycle. including conversion testing, functional testing, integration testing, bill-to-bill testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Lead preparation of business scenarios and required test scripts, including identification of needed master and transactional data, to execute end-to-end testing.
- Lead or facilitate test meetings, escalating issues and concerns to the project management team or E Source Sr. Manager as needed.
- Monitor issues and defects for trends and provide metrics to the project management team.
- Oversee and report on requirement traceability throughout all test phases.
- Manage and oversee test team to ensure timely test execution, proper test result documentation, timely defects and issues reporting, and timely retest.
- Oversee test automation activities and resources, if applicable.
- Participate in design workshops, specification walkthroughs, and requirement reconciliation.
- Mentor and train client test team in testing best practices and E Source’s NavigateOne Testing Methodology.
- Understand the benefits of automation and how to leverage it to increase efficiency and quality on projects.
- Work closely with other project groups to increase the quality of software delivered.
What will make you a great fit:
- A minimum of 8 years of testing experience and test management on large development services software implementation projects (should include leading completion of 2 full implementation projects).
- Project leadership experience.
- Experience in development services software implementation projects and testing.
- Experience in using quality center/application lifecycle management (ALM).
- Understanding of customer relationship management.
- People management and leadership skills, including coaching, supervision, staffing, career growth, and conflict management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire to maintain a high degree of quality.
- In-depth knowledge of the SDLC as well as various software testing methodologies.
- Consulting experience.
- Expertise in SQL scripting for moderate- to expert-level data mining and reporting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the utility industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, math, or business. Or equivalent body of experience in the project testing field.
And we’d be thrilled if you have:
- Knowledge of the full project management discipline from project initiation to implementation and project closure.
- Experience with development services software like TrackIT, Central Square, Tyler EPL, and so on.
- Experience implementing, administering, and training on testing tools such as the OpenText Suite (QC, AQM, UFT, and so on).
- Experience in SharePoint deliverable and defect tracking.
- Experience with at least one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Scala, VBScript, VB or C++, Python).
- Certification in automation tools or methodology.
- Experience creating and using a keyword-driven framework for both manual and automated testing.

The budgeted salary for this position is
- $120,000–$145,000 USD + annual bonus up to 15%
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
This role will require travel to client sites with travel up to 80% (usually Mon–Thurs).
