Come and discover the opportunity to join our Technology team as a Data Analytics and Governance Lead. This role is a Permanent role and can be based from Port Kembla NSW, Mascot NSW or Mount Waverley VIC.
What Will You Do?
The Data Analytics and Governance Lead plays a key role in ensuring ASP’s Data and Information assets are reliable, secure and used effectively, which in turn supports better decision making, reduces risks, and improves efficiency.
The Data Analytics and Governance Lead – drives business value in our data, working with the broader Data and Analytics team to present data products to the organisation, enabling users to analyse data using visualisation tools for decision making and insights. You will play a key role in ensuring ASP’s Data and Information assets are reliable, secure and used effectively. You will develop training programmes to ensure Visualisation and Storytelling techniques used for self-service analytics are in line with best practise, and work with key stakeholders to uplift the data literacy of the organisation, resulting in better decision making. You will also develop data governance frameworks, having strong relationships with key stakeholders and will utilise these relationships and your influencing skills to drive the adoption of good governance practises.
This will be achieved by:
- Conducting analysis of business requirements with the view to deliver outcomes through data visualisation
- Identify opportunities to improve the value of data products through visualisation and governance services.
- Presenting data for the purposes of visualisation via Self-Service Analytics.
- Designing and implementing dashboards and reports in visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Designing, implementing and managing governance policies for data throughout its lifecycle, ensuring these policies are actionable and integrated into daily operations.
- Working with stakeholders to align data governance efforts with business needs, ensuring buy-in and driving the adoption of data governance policies and standards
- Driving the adoption of self-service analytics across the business, as well as provide guidance to and collaborate with other data leaders globally.
- Providing leadership, setting professional standards for data governance and visualisation activities within the self-service analytics community
More About You
You're a dynamic, proactive IT professional with demonstrated experience leading a team delivering Data solutions to large, complex organisations. While we don't expect you to know our industry inside out (we have an excellent network to support your learning), your business engagement and influencing expertise are what set you apart. We're looking for a collaborative team player with:
- Domain experience across Data and Analytics technologies.
- Experience in defining and implementing data governance frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data security techniques such as Role Based Access Control and Row Level Security.
- Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI and Cognos.
- Experience in with designing and implementing dimensional data models and leveraging them within visualisation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
