The AI Strategy & Governance Team is responsible for shaping and executing Goldman Sachs' firmwide AI strategy. The team collaborates with engineering, leadership, business units and risk and control groups to define and execute on our AI strategy, through our steering and working groups, and by fostering cross-functional collaboration. This ensures AI initiatives align with business objectives, adhere to our governance standards, and deliver tangible business value across the firm.

ABOUT THE JOB

This Vice President role, based in Hong Kong, spearheads the strategy, execution, and adoption of AI programs across APAC. As the primary point of contact for all AI initiatives in the region, the VP collaborates closely with regional and global leadership, engineering, business units, and risk/control functions. This role ensures AI programs align with business objectives, meet governance standards, deliver measurable value, and navigate the unique regulatory and market dynamics of APAC. Effective communication and stakeholder management are critical to ensuring all parties are informed and engaged with the firm's AI strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of the APAC AI strategy, aligning with global strategy and regional business priorities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all APAC AI inquiries and initiatives, representing the AI Strategy & Governance Team.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to foster AI adoption and innovation.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with APAC stakeholders, including business leaders, technology teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of APAC AI projects, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery to quality standards.
  • Communicate AI strategy, initiatives, and progress to APAC stakeholders.
  • Identify and evaluate new AI opportunities within the APAC market.
  • Ensure APAC AI initiatives adhere to firm governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise and support APAC business units on AI solution development and implementation.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of APAC AI initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in program management, technology leadership, or a related field, with a significant focus on Financial Services, Technology and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI) 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess new AI opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience with AI governance and risk management frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical considerations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve.
