Are you passionate about embedded software and do you thrive at the intersection of vision systems and robotics? At Lely, you’ll contribute to innovative, automated agricultural solutions that improve the lives of farmers across the globe. As an Embedded Software Engineer with a focus on vision and camera technologies, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of machine vision specialists, software engineers, and test engineers.

Your role involves the development and maintenance of high-quality embedded software for our robotic systems. You work from concept to implementation and contribute directly to the evolution of sustainable agriculture.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and testing robust embedded software for production environments.
• Optimizing data structures and algorithms for real-time vision processing.
• Maintaining existing software and implementing continuous improvements.
• Ensuring software quality through reviews, testing, and technical debt management.
• Collaborating in Agile Scrum teams by setting goals, tracking progress, and managing risks.
• Supporting the integration of camera and vision technologies into our robotic platforms.

You are a flexible professional who thrives on learning and communicating within multidisciplinary teams. With a deep understanding of software development, you translate technical challenges into practical and scalable solutions.

We are looking for talent that has the following qualities or has experience with:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong expertise in C++ and the ability to develop complex systems with it.
• Familiarity with Python 3 for scripting and tooling.
• Experience with Embedded Linux environments and version control using Git.
• A system-level perspective with the ability to document clearly and effectively.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and experience working in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
• Understanding of network protocols such as CAN and Ethernet.
• Analytical mindset for debugging and resolving complex software issues.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
