We are seeking a Data Engineer who possesses a strong drive for results.  In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the ingestion, quality, integrity, and reliability of our data engineering processes and outputs, and helping lead key architecture change within DTN, while providing expert support to our

customers and internal teams.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Enable our DTN partners and customers by delivering trusted data sets and services from complex data sources and environments.

  • Support in the delivery of our modern data and analytic architecture through the execution and delivery of data management, data integration, and data acquisition patterns and pipelines.

  • Enable our DTN partners and customers by supporting their data infrastructure needs and by solving technical issues with the data or environments.

  • Supply ongoing feedback and continuous improvement on intended patterns and standards used in data management practices.

  • Document data engineering practices and standards while sharing them with other teams to promote broader adoption.

  • Ensure DTN's data is governed and secured as part of solution delivery.

  • Identify and improve internal processes by designing data management and infrastructure solutions that provide needed capabilities, lower cost and complexity, and drive automation.

  • Build reference documentation that will fuel reuse and consistency in how data is acquired, transformed, persisted, and consumed analytically at DTN through enterprise standard patterns, SODs, and reference architectures that enable specific fit for purpose needs and set overall direction in the Data and Analytic domain.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 2 years of data engineering (pipelines, ingest, ETL/ELT) experience or at least 2 years of software engineering/development experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of cloud experience (prefer multiple vendors)

  • Proven competency or work experience with the following technical skills (in order of importance):

    • Python in API; Web, and Data development (or at least one language like python, java, go etc.)

    • Data Preparation through ETL / SQL processing

    • Database including Oracle, Postgres, and/or MySQL

    • Cloud (AWS)

    • Cloud Data Platforms (Snowflake, AWS Native)

    • Infrastructure build/management (Cloud and Legacy)

  • Ability to build processes and solutions that support data transformation, workload management, complex data structures, and data governance standards.

Professional Experience with:

  • Cloud architectures and usages

  • Remote work environments

  • Agile development methodology

  • Highly available and scalable solutions

  • High-performance architectures

  • CI/CD development and iterative design

  • Docker and K8s

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $82,500 and $110,000 DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
