Meet the team:

Our Global Shop Floor Systems group is an enterprise team that develops and applies our digital strategy to Dexcom’s manufacturing operations. We work with leading edge hardware and software technologies to seamlessly integrate our shop floor systems within the organization to enable optimal operational and business performance.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing databases, data warehouses, ELT standards, testing and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. 
Where you come in:

•    You will lead database projects and internal/external resources, develop and manage project schedules and resolve project issues.
•    You will be a subject matter expert regarding Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and ETL and ELT processes. 
•    You will support existing reporting technology (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, Jmp, etc.) and develop reports using new technologies (DBT (Data Build Tool & Google Cloud Platform in particular)
•    You will work with cross-functional departments including R&D, Operations, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Contract Manufacturers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, compliance documentation, test plans, test records and release implementation, as well as facilitate data access in terms of reporting and data integrations.
•    You will troubleshoot and document database performance or availability issues, data quality issues in an FDA-compliant manner.
•    You will facilitate training for end users.
•    You will create, maintain, and enforce internal development processes that align with industry best-practices and medical regulations alike.
•    Other duties as assigned, incl. but not limited to providing periodic 24/7 remote phone support for the systems.

What makes you successful: 

•    You have 10+ years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
•    You have 5+ years of Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft SQL Server experience.
•    You’re familiar with DBT (Data Build Tool) and aggregation of GCP data.
•    You are fluent in SQL Server 2012+, reporting and query tools and practices.
•    You have exposure to test-driven development and experience with all test phases. 
•    You have experience with Medallion Architecture, open table format, Iceberg, Lakehouse, and Datastream.
•    You have working knowledge with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques, and other tools, such as Jira, Jama and confluence. 
•    Experience or knowledge with web development (REST, Node.js, Python, React, Angular)
•    You have working knowledge of GMP standards and procedures.
•    You have experience with testing in a 21 CFR part 11 regulated environment. 
•    You are familiar with Oracle, Azure and other relational databases.
•    You are able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
