We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Management Expert (DME) with a passion for data and who has experience in a data driven environment. As a DME, you will help us ensure that our data products are optimally aligned with our consumer requirements and delivered in a timely manner.

The Product: Safe Bank

Being a safe- and compliant bank is a prerequisite for our licence to operate and for customer trust. Therefore we need solid and data driven Know Your Customer, Fraud- and Collections Processes.

As a DME in the Safe Bank domain, you deliver data and insights needed for these processes. In close cooperation with your consumers in the KYC Services

you develop and deliver governed data products such as operational data flows and analytical data marts.

Roles and responsibilities

As a Data Management Expert, you:

  • Work closely with our KYC Insights consumers to discover and meet their data needs

  • Analyze and clarify consumption requirements, create detailed specifications for DevOps engineers

  • Understand existing conceptual, logical and physical data models, or help draw up new ones, as you are a sparring partner for engineers in creation or sourcing data into physical data models (one of the existing models is ING’s version of IBM Banking Data Warehouse model)

  • Contribute to Data Governance – create and maintain Data Definitions as part of meta-data management (using IBM InfoSphere Governance Catalog), create Data Quality rules, contribute to Data Retention

  • Be an advocate of “ING Orange code” behaviors – helps others be successful, be one step ahead, take it on and make it happen

  • Be always on the lookout to improve our internal processes to speed up our discovery and delivery

  • Work with various stakeholders, such as:

    • Architects: data lake design to and the implementation of new solutions is according to the data lake target architecture

    • Data stewards: you capture the requirements for data quality, data privacy and other relevant aspects of the data. You test the data on all those aspects and you safeguard the consistency and quality of the data in the data lake.

    • Data Sourcing squads: You act as a subject matter expert regarding data delivery (data profiling, mapping, analysis, governance)

    • You align with the business stakeholders the scope of the data that needs to be delivered (System of Record to the data users), you facilitate and contribute to workshops with stakeholders (data stewards, data users, analysts, data engineers, etc.)

    • Engineers and business analysts: You participate in defining together with the team a sustainable solution for resolution of recurring issues in data

Your profile and skills

  • Knowledge and experience in data management, data warehousing, dimensional data modelling, data governance

  • Experience with data and business analysis

  • Strong knowledge of SQL

  • Knowledge or experience about Agile working

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of and experience in the banking sector

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)

  • Enthusiastic personality and Team Player: focus on delivery through collaboration, ability to unite people to work towards the same purpose. Advocate of the “ING Orange Code”

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree
