We are seeking a Product Specialist to join our Personal Lines Direct to Consumer team to lead the analysis, development and implementation of Personal Lines products. This includes evaluation of pricing, underwriting, marketing, competitor research, customer satisfaction and customer acquisition initiatives.

Based on qualifications and experience, this position can be filled as a Product Specialist or Product Specialist Senior.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct statistical analyses and research that leads to influencing business decisions as it relates to our direct-to-consumer business. This may include such areas as financial performance, advertising effectiveness, rate of return, market penetration, retention, closing ratios, claim trends, state profitability, competitor monitoring, and sales.

  • Create and modify, as needed, standard reports as well as customized analysis in support of meeting business unit targets.

  • Collaborate closely with in house sales center to develop and produce reports to maximize call center efficiency.

  • Evaluate the impact of program and process changes in key metrics such as expense management, profit, production, retention and customer satisfaction.

  • Develop tools and methods to monitor and evaluate financial impacts of acquisition activity.

  • Prepare, forecast, and analyze trends in such areas as new business production, retention, loss ratios, general business conditions, and other related areas.

  • Collect, create and disseminate data, perform analyses and prepare recommendations related to the external insurance operations environment, marketing trends, including industry developments, trends and emerging markets.

  • Work with external lead vendors to maximize digital marketing efforts to ensure we are meeting our allowable cost per acquisition by product and brand.

What it Takes

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science or Economics is preferred. Graduate degree highly desired.

  • 0-3+ years related work experience, preferably in the P&C Insurance industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills with proven ability to effectively communicate, develop relationships, and make data driven decisions.

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office with emphasis in Microsoft Excel.

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis tools, such as Python, R, SAS, SQL and Tableau.

  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate findings in written, verbal and visual presentations.

  • Ability to think creatively and demonstrate curiosity in the review of products/data.

  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment, receptive to feedback and willingness to learn.
