SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…

• Lead Design For Reliability (DFR) activities such as Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) across all hardware designs.
• Design and drive test validation of future technologies to detect design weaknesses
• Work with multiple vendors and ODMs to standardize reliability expectations
• Inform and influence Pure Storage’s lifetime reliability metrics.
• Refine design verification tests to bring out environmental stress weaknesses in hardware designs and ensure designs meet Pure’s lifetime reliability metrics.
• Help debug testbeds and HW related escalation both internal and external
• Participation in all phases of the product development cycle including design, documentation, eDVT, Failure analysis and custom HW design and validation
• Define, implement and automate HW validation and qualification and HW stress tests
• Improve design and qualification processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and product robustness
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and support to introduce new storage systems into production
• Perform failure and root cause analysis activities with our support organization and help debug customer escalations
• Great team player both within the larger HW team along with other support Teams ( SW, Test, Operations, etc …) 
• Coming up with new techniques to harden designs and automate validation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…

• 7+ years of Reliability Engineering work experience with server compute/storage/networking platforms or hardware
• B.S. Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline (M.S. is a plus)
• Experience working at enterprise data storage system companies, server companies, or large CM’s
• Strong knowledge of hardware reliability statistics and reliability prediction software to aid decision-making and risk quantification
• Strong understanding of X86 architecture and proven design track record
• Experience planning, implementing and automating HW qualification processes
• Solid experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, BASH, etc) and test development
• Work with diagnostics engineers: providing direction and reviewing test plans ensuring test coverage
• Detail oriented, analytical, process savvy, and customer focused yet flexible and adaptable to business needs
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, technical development environment
• Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams
• High level of teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing business environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is: $193,000—$230,000 USD
