BMW Financial Services NA, LLC was established in 1993, supporting the sales and marketing of BMW products. Subsequently, we have expanded beyond the leasing, retail and commercial financing of a traditional captive-finance company offering a broad variety of products tailored for the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce customer. As a Lead Data Scientist you will be responsible for data discovery and building predictive models utilizing machine learning algorithms. The Lead Data Scientist will use a variety of data mining/data analysis methods and tools to present findings in a format that is straightforward and comprehensible for non-technical stakeholders. This position will also mentor other data focused roles across the company.
WHAT AWAITS YOU.
- Translate business objectives to data science problems and vice versa.
- Lead analytical projects by transforming business requirements into actionable solutions, overseeing the entire project from development to implementation.
- Use a combination of exploratory analysis and data mining techniques to identify and understand trends and anomalies.
- Design, develop and validate predictive, prescriptive models for business use cases, problems utilizing data from multiple data sources and ensure successful adoption of the model by business.
- Utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, develop innovative modeling solutions and implement necessary monitoring to deploy models in production.
- Use data storytelling skills to communicate deep technical outcomes from models to non-technical audiences in the organization, while leveraging data driven visuals to enhance the experience.
- Utilize AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms to deploy, manage, and scale AI models and machine learning solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Serve as the SF2-US Center of Excellence with regards to Data Science standards and processes including training and coaching on techniques and tools.
- Foster model improvement efforts through communication with model users by collecting feedback and discussing it with other experts and management.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
- Bachelors degree (Major in statistics, computer science, economics, engineering or similar quantitative field preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a data scientist or similar in a corporate environment.
- Experience using AI Tools; preferably Jupyter with Python, Data Robot, and SAS.
- Experience using BI Tools; preferably Tableau
- Experience using SQL; preferably Postgres SQL and T-SQL
- 3 years leading agile project delivery for analytical topics
- 3 years in the Financial Services or Automotive Industry (Preferred)

Relocation is available for this position.
This is a hybrid role that requires regular attendance in the office.
The expected salary range for this position is $54,300.00 - $108,600.00.
The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
