JOB PURPOSE:
The Information and Data Management (IDM) Assistant plays a critical role in supporting Oxfam’s emergency response in the oPt through the development and management of a robust, accurate, and evidence-based information system. The postholder will be responsible for data collection, cleaning, validation, storage, visualization, and dissemination to enable real-time decision-making and quality reporting. The IDM Assistant ensures data accuracy, secure management, and accessibility for internal and external reporting needs including Sitrep, Oxfam Footprint, OQR, OPR, and donor reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Information & Data Management
- Design and maintain user-friendly databases and structured data management systems for project activities.
- Support the development and digitalization of tools (using KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, Power Apps, etc.) to collect timely and reliable field data.
- Ensure compatibility of data tools with MEAL frameworks and program needs.
- Maintain structured databases, ensuring data is easily retrievable and securely archived.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date tracking of beneficiary records, program reach, and key indicators.
- Coordinate closely with program teams to ensure timely and consistent data flow for internal and external reporting.
- Clean, verify, and validate program data to ensure reliability and consistency across program sectors (WASH, Protection, EFSVL, Gender etc.).
- Implement regular data quality checks with field teams and MEAL staff.
- Uphold data protection standards to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of information.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Produce real-time dashboards and infographics using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Generate analysis products to support program reviews, learning events, and decision-making.
- Assist in developing of donor reports, situation reports (sitrep), OQR, OPR, and Oxfam Footprint reporting through timely and accurate data inputs.
- Manage proper archiving of MEAL tools, datasets, and reports in both digital and physical formats.
- Assist in the development, revision, and standardization of SOPs and templates related to information and data management.
Skills Development & Technical Support
- Provide technical support and orientation to staff and partners on data tools and reporting formats.
- Support the promotion and application of data protection and accountability standards within MEAL and programming teams
- Support learning and reflection processes by providing visual summaries, dashboards, and trend analyses on key indicators.
- Contribute to broader MEAL functions as required by the MEAL Specialist.
- Participate in relevant coordination forums and data-related working groups as needed.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL
Essential
- University degree in Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in database development, data management, or MEAL roles in humanitarian/development settings.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and macros.
- Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, ODK).
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of data protection standards and commitment to safe programming principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a complex emergency environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to Oxfam’s values, including gender justice and accountability.
Desirable
- Experience working with NGOs or in emergency response contexts.
- Arabic and English language proficiency (written and spoken).
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and/or GIS/mapping tools.
