BASIC FUNCTION:
This position has Global responsibility for Data Governance, CAD Systems Support, Spare Parts Catalog, and overall responsibility of Engineering Data Services, with global influence on systems, standards, and processes that are compatible throughout all regions. Requires a global approach to governing Engineering data including integration, storage, retention, and accessibility. Responsible for the development and implementation of global software and process roadmap and global training. Will ensure standards promote efficiency, innovation, quality of work, pace, and further support digitally connected products.
- Global CAD System Support: includes the support of design, CAD software, change management software, and other systems that are utilized in Global Design Engineering.
- Global Spare Parts Catalog (SPC): includes the support of the release and maintenance of a spare parts catalog to global distribution networks that are used for maintenance of standard generator sets.
- Engineering Data Services (EDS): includes supporting the processing of engineering change requests in SAP, ERP Integration globally, and governing Engineering project management to ensure on-time Product Development deliverables.
- Global Data Governance: includes all related Engineering standards, policies, and processes that support Product Development’s use of Engineering applications
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of manager, coach, and support resource.
- Ensure that consistent policies, processes, and practices are employed across multiple disciplines and regions.
- Lead standards teams and process improvement opportunities. Confidently interface with and make recommendations to senior management.
- Demonstrate an ability to hold associates accountable.
- Build and manage a high-quality Engineering Data Governance team to keep pace with the company’s growth and philosophy of high value for intellectual capital.
- Provide direction on emerging technologies to enhance global exchange of engineering information across all regions.
- Occasional travel to China, Singapore, France, India, United States
- Ensure that current programs are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet the customers’ requirements for performance and quality.
- Plan, budget, and schedule both direct and support resources to ensure that objectives are met in an optimum manner with maximum financial efficiency.
- Establish a consistent, predictable process for executing Engineering Data Governance on programs globally.
- Utilize offshore and outsourcing resources for greater efficiency and economy.
- Ensure the roles and responsibilities of associates are clearly defined and communicated to them. Review and appraise the qualifications and work performance records of each associate periodically, as prescribed by company policy. Recommend employment, promotion, dismissal, or change in compensation of associates
- Continuously monitor and analyze department performance relative to cost objectives, and direct or recommend corrective changes to maintain optimum operating efficiency.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of global data governance that supports global and regional systems, processes, and standards.
- Review, establish, and maintain internal Engineering standards for data policies; applies to how data is gathered, stored, processed, and disposed of. Governance rules and standards to be applied globally along with identifying regional requirements. Ensures Engineering standards and best practices are aligned with Rehlko retention policies.
- Foster innovation and develop global roadmap to support the development and standardization of Engineering Data Services, CAD Systems, Spare Parts Catalog, and Product Coordination including processes, data system upgrades, and technology that supports the company’s long- range business plans.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Engineer or equivalent training (Bachelor)Minimum of (5) years of broad engineering management experience in relevant fields including successful product development contributions.
- Proven “hands-on” team leadership track record and mentoring skills
- Practical working knowledge of generic or dedicated IT tools, ERP systems, Data Storage systems, CAD, PLM, PDM, finance, manufacturing, engineering functions
- Mastery of English language along with project management techniques
