About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Engineer to join our Bangalore team and take a leading role in building intelligent and scalable Entity Resolution systems. This role focuses on backend and data engineering, with an emphasis on Java-based service development, data pipelines, and record matching architectures.

The ideal candidate possesses in-depth backend expertise, experience with large-scale data processing, and a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms. Proficiency in Java, working knowledge of Python, and a good understanding of data engineering principles are essential. Familiarity with Databricks and emerging LLM-based data processing methods will be considered a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services for Entity Resolution, including record matching, deduplication, and similarity scoring.
• Implement and optimize data engineering pipelines for structured and semi-structured data, ensuring accuracy, quality, and scalability.
• Apply knowledge of OOP, data structures, and algorithms to implement efficient, rule-based, and possibly ML-enhanced resolution logic.
• Collaborate with data architects and product teams to define entity matching strategies, canonical data models, and data validation rules.
• Integrate and scale resolution systems using platforms like Databricks, Spark, or other distributed computing tools.
• Collaborate with teams exploring LLM-assisted entity matching, extraction, or enrichment techniques.
• Ensure high system reliability, performance, and observability in production environments.
• Provide technical mentorship and contribute to engineering best practices.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering with a strong focus on Java development.
• Proven experience building and deploying Entity Resolution or Record Linkage systems.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, prototyping, or data processing tasks.
• Solid understanding of data engineering, including ETL workflows, schema design, and data validation.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, or distributed file systems.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or equivalent big data platforms.
• Familiarity with LLMs (Large Language Models) and how they can augment traditional data matching workflows (e.g., semantic similarity, entity extraction).
• Exposure to hybrid rule-based and ML-based resolution strategies.
• Understanding of cloud-native development practices and deployment models on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD workflows, and Kubernetes-based orchestration.
