Corteva Agriscience has exciting opportunities for a senior data scientist/statistician. Successful candidates will join a strong, globally distributed Data Science team that develops and applies innovative methods and tools to deliver insights for R&D. The candidates will partner with leading toxicologists, environmental scientists, and human health risk assessors to support our efforts in regulatory approval. The position will be in Indianapolis, IN.  

What You Will do:

  • Provide statistical input to the design, analysis, reporting and interpretation of data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and inter-disciplinary teams for problem solving, addressing complex data analytics and statistical questions, and interpretation of complex datasets.
  • Effectively explain research methodology and statistical analysis as they relate to research outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with the research staff to address complex data analytics and statistical questions.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators, co-investigators, and research staff in the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentation.

What Skills You Need:

  • MS with 10+ years or Ph.D. with 5+ years in a Statistical or related discipline.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and execute biostatistical components of research and development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design, generalized linear models and nonlinear models, as well as model selection and validation.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to successfully collaborate and lead projects with colleagues from diverse technical background.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and attention to details.

Skills that are nice to have: 

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that scientifically rigorous experimental designs and statistical methods are implemented.
  • Experience in identifying and solving problems related to experimental design and statistical analyses for regulatory approval using classical and modern statistical methodologies.
  • High level of knowledge in chemical or seed regulatory methods and execution.
  • Prior experience in global regulatory submissions. 
  • Familiarity with modeling biological, cellular, or ecological data.
  • Some experience in data mining using machine learning algorithms.
